The University of Louisville Honors Student Council is hosting a book and media sale to benefit the renovation of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Kosair Children's Hospital. The hospital is in the process of raising enough funds to purchase 100 new pods for the NICU. A pod is essentially a room for an infant undergoing and recovering from medical procedures at the hospital. This pod will allow parents of the infant to stay overnight with their child as well as provide a less stressful environment during such a precious time. The current NICU does not offer such amenities because the infant's individual beds are within feet of each other. So our goal is to raise enough money to purchase a new pod for the hospital. Thus, we need the help of the community to reach our goal..

The Book and Media Sale will be held at the University of Louisville's Red Barn (circled in red on the map below) from April 8-11, between the hours of 9:00AM - 7:30PM each day.

Parking

1) From 9am to 7:30pm, people can park in the Speed Museum parking lot (marked in green on the map below), and the cost is $3 from 1 to 2 hours and $4.50 from 2 to 3 hours.
2) From 9am to 7:30pm, people can park in the SAC pay lot (marked in orange) that you enter off South Floyd Street at the pedestrian flashing light crosswalk and the SAC circle.
3) From 5 to 7:30pm, people can park in the University South Lot (marked in blue) located between the Red Barn and the University Club. Laura is kindly having the gate rasied at 5pm on Thursday and Friday, April 8 and 9. They are always lifted on weekends.
4) People can park at the metered parking on South Floyd Street, South 3rd Street, Cardinal Boulevard, and South Brook Street (all approximated in yellow) at any time.

How Can You Help?

Donate any unwanted books, music, movies, or video games to the Honors Student Council. Through the end of March 2010, we will be accepting any items you wish to donate. Currently, we are accepting any books, books on CD, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, laser discs, LPs, vinyl singles (45s), cassettes, and video games in any format. We still need a substantial amount of donations to help us reach our goal of $5000.

Where can your items be dropped off?

If you have items you would like to donate and are unable to drop them off, please contact either Greg Shaw or Luke Buckman to arrange for a pick-up. If you would like to drop items off, please see the information below.

Items can be dropped off at any of the following locations:
